Blenheim Palace
Yesterday we met up with Chris and Rob at Blenheim Palace. Sadly the fine weather in Colchester didn’t make it to Woodstock but we had a lovely day nevertheless.
Richard and I visited Blenheim Palace many years ago and I cannot honestly remember a great deal apart from the fact it snowed! It all became clear when we entreated the house though as it felt familiar. Blenheim is vast and very opulent.
We had a good browse around this house (although it was very busy), before heading off on a tour of the grounds taking in the wonderful landscape.
It’s just a shame we decided to visit the new tour – the Untold Story. Some bright spark has decided to build an animatronic tour in the top-level of the house – it really doesn’t work and doesn’t fit with the house. I am not sure who this kind of tour is aimed at as everyone seemed bored!
That aside we had a lovely day with Chris and Rob. We’re looking forward to seeing them in October when they are coming to visit us in Colchester
